This will be tough to read. Many of you have been patrons since I opened shop in 2016. You got me through the scary first year steps, reached out with support when my mixer broke down, spread the good word when we came back and happily entered my shop in a pandemic era.
I can’t thank you enough for the years of support. In June we celebrated 4 years, Carol and I took every opportunity we could to share some of our favourite memories we had with each of you. And thats why pizza fans this is so tough.
WHEAT as you know it is now permanently closed. The space will reopen with new ownership & a new name but it will continue to be a pizza shop and the phone number will remain. I will be helping the transition with the dough recipes as it is their intent to keep the dough the same for your benefit.
At the start of 2020 I made the decision that this day would be coming soon. You should know it’s a decision I was ‘happy’ to make. I hope you can appreciate that after four years I am ready to gain new life experiences. The time is right for me, my family, and really pizza fans there is never a time that was ‘going to feel right’ to hear this.
I did the best I could, Carol did the best she could, the staff did a great job. We worked hard to make the shop a success, your willingness to spread the good word to a family member, friend, coworker, neighbour did work. The community support is strong & I’m proud of what we created.
I’m thankful for the experience, I learned so much about owning a small business and about myself. But now I am excited for some needed rest ...for the record I don’t know what’s next.. I’ll keep you posted here...but for sure my dog will get a longer walk.
